I was recently sent some Remi-D to try out through my connections at Mom Fuse. Personally I love the spray feature. It's easy to apply and doesn't make your hands sticky at all. There's no real lasting smell, which is also nice as some of those gel sanitizers could clear your sinuses! As an added plus my hands didn't seem to dry out at all while I used it multiple times in one day.Remi-D is also free of Triclosan and Parabens, both of which I am a fan of keeping out of my body. Although one of the ingredients listed on it is "fragrance", which can mean many things. It's the one thing about Remi-D that I'm not a huge fan of, I'd like to know exactly what's in it, but I do think this is a much better alternative to other, more conventional, products out there. And at this point, I would much rather use this than to get sick one more time during this pregnancy (currently at 32 weeks!).

I'm a big advocate of alcohol-free hand sanitizers. I'm also a big advocate of truth in advertising and comparing products and prices.
1. Remi-D is NOT "all natural". Yes, it contains organic compounds..but these aren't elements that grow on trees..so they are not, in the definition of "all naturual", all natural. 1. Below are the ingredients:
Benzalkonium Chloride
Dihydroxypropyl PEG -5Linoleammonium Chloride
Glycereth-2 Cocoate
Behentrimonium Chloride
2. Yes, its a heckuva lot better and safer to the skin when compared to alcohol products i.e. Purell.
3. There are OTHER ALCOHOL FREE PRODUCTS that don't claim to be "ALL NATURAL", but do contain the same active ingredient benzalkonium chloride. That's fine..we prefer this active ingredient. We simply take exception to false claims.
3. An alternative product is called Soapopular. It uses BAC, but its fragrance free and dye free, which supports the manufacturers claim that its hypoallergenic. Visit www.soapyusa.com for details. You'll find that the Soapopular product is 1/2 the price of Remi-D. 1/2 the price.
4. There's a distinction, however small, between 99.99% effective and 99.9% effective. Remi-D makes the former claim, but there is no documentation on their website that supports that claim.
4a. Remi-D claims that its product is available in all CVS stores, and many other retailers. It is NOT available in all CVS stores, it is available in a select number of locations on a trial basis. We checked.
5. If we had a choice, we'd wash with soap and water. But we don't always, so when making a choice between hand sanitizers--be concerned about outsized claims and outsized prices.
putting a fragrance or a dye into a hand sanitizer is a dangerous thing to do for those that have low immune systems or prone to allergic reactions. That's a fact.
Remi-D is all for a constructive conversation about our products. That's why we sent Remi-D samples to mom bloggers all over the country. We want to know how we're doing and how to do even better!
The bloggers and most of the comments have been great. As Remi-D's chief science officer, I'm weighing in to set the record straight on comments made by someone who was off base.
Remi-D is a proud member of The Natural Products Association and believe in their mission. We follow its guidelines regarding the definition of a natural product as posted on its Web site.
Remi-D uses naturally derived raw materials such as Glycerine, Lanolin, Cocoanut oils, and Tea Tree Oils.
Remi-D does indeed kill 99.99% of germs. We're revamping our Web site (www.remi-d.com) and will post that information soon. For now, please know that Remi-D meets all FDA criteria for a hand sanitizer in killing 99.99% of germs.
Remi-D does not use any dyes or colorants.
We use the highest quality ingredients to offer a premium product at a reasonable price.
